brady, she'd been second-guessing herself since the thought first crossed her mind. hot springs? first off, it was hot as hell outside. second, it wasn't like she had friends in hoenn to go with; she didn't know nobody in the area, she'd be going solo. was going by yourself to a hot springs a normal mature thing to do or was it actually incredibly sad and lonely?

anyway, she still ended up going, and she'd been a little iffy at how crowded the place seemed but it was actually pretty nice for a bit. relaxing, even. there was three of them in the pool but it wasn't exactly crowded. brady felt secretly glad no dudes had showed up.

she wasn't quite sure what she had signed up for, but it definitely wasn't this. to be honest, a big part of the draw, the thing that had pulled her in, her main motivation, might have been all this talk about some kind of fancy boiled eggs, specific to this area (were they made in the hot springs? did they just boil eggs on a stove? wait, the more she thought about this...) and the rest of the stuff, sauna, hot spring, all of that, it sounded nice enough. what she hadn't realized was that there were other people in the same bath-rooms (literally), and not even just that but it was co-ed. scandalous. she was proudly of the age where she claimed to not care about things like that but she blushed despite herself along with the heat of the steam in the room.

to be honest, though, it wasn't that bad. it wasn't as bad as she thought it would be, being in a nice warm bath and surrounded by quiet, and steam, ~~and some ladiiieeeeeessssss~~. she was still a little embarassed, though, a little painfully self conscious; some of it was washed away by the water and the warmth and the memories of being young back home, both distance and time tied loosely together forever, making it impossible to see or feel or hear again.

but it was warm.

interrupted from her thoughts by the entrance of a -- from the looks of things -- a total dude, and not just that, lieutenant?, some kind of cop or something, she found herself slinking down a bit as well, accidentally glancing at the other uninvolved person in the water nearby. maybe she'd get to hear something cool. maybe she'd turn into a prune here in the water before she ever got to drink that chilled coffee milk in the fridges outside. she'd be danged if she stood up before it was time regardless.
